Recording Digital Audio with the ePiano (creating .wav files): Overview: The Creative Digital Audio recorder on the red Create Menu allows you to record from a variety of sources. Use the “what u hear” choice to turn any sound generated by the sound card (including during use of Soundsetter, Home Studio or Home Concert!) into a .wav file. This step will allow you to easily create CDs from your ePiano! Summary of steps to create a .wav file from “live” playing. : 1. Open PLAY tab and launch Soundsetter 2. Choose sound combination and set volumes. 3. Minimize Soundsetter and click ePiano’s CREATE Tab. 4. Launch Digital Audio Recorder from CREATE Tab 5. Set the Record From setting to <What U Hear> from the drop down list. 6. Make sure the Recorder’s Monitor button is highlighted 7. Adjust recorder level and play some notes - adjust record level so you see movement in the Level meter when you play. 8. Press red Record button and begin playing. When finished—press stop 9. Name the file. It’s now saved as a .wav file. The file can be played back easily using the playback buttons in the Recorder.
NOTE: These files are saved in a directory that is “deep” (the default directory can’t be changed as of this writing): C:\program files\creative\SB live\recorder\recordings\ Microphone: Different microphones have different output levels. In the MIXER system button on the MusiConsole—you can boost the Mic signal up to 20db by clicking the red + above the Microphone input option. |
