*note: Beginning 2007, we
began offering a variety of pianos to provide the ePiano
Complete experience. Piano support and features
will vary with the particular model used.
Contact ePiano for more
information on your particular ePiano Complete
brand/model keyboard if the tips below do not help with
your current need.
The
Setup Guide contains complete instructions on
setting up the cabinet/enclosure and bench in the proper
order.

MODEL: ePiano Complete, ePiano Lite (2002-2006):
Situation: I'd like to
amplify the output of my ePiano keyboard/system.
Solution:
The ePiano Complete has and dual RCA stereo outputs on
the back panel.
These are "monitor" style outputs in that volume level
from these jacks is controlled by the user's volume
settings on the front panel.

These outputs can be connected to the input of various
amplification devices (home stereo, PA system etc).
The basic path of the ePiano is as follows: The
output from the soundcard is connected to the piano
via the 1/8" stereo audio cable to the piano's
"Computer Audio In" jack. This input is
controlled via the "Computer Volume" control on the
front panel. The "Master" volume control
controls overall gain of the Computer/Software Volume
and the internal piano volume. This mix is the
signal sent via the RCA outputs, before it reaches the
amplifier and is output through the piano's 4
speakers. .
Considerations/Options:
- The RCA outputs on the ePiano are
the best means to combine the various sounds features
of the ePiano system (CPU) and the internal sound of
the ePiano "piano" itself. Balance between and
the level of these sounds is achieved through the
three front panel controls.
- Optionally, the direct output of
the Creative Labs soundcard on the ePiano System CPU,
however, this will not allow user to change the volume
via the piano's front panel controls (a very useful
feature). This affords access to surround sound
features dependent on the exact model of the soundcard
- but all ePiano soundcards support 5.1 surround,
although most users and most applications do not
support this feature and thus it offers little
benefit.
Situation:
My pedal squeaks
Solution: Occasionally, the pedal
spring can develop a subtle squeaking sound when
depressed. The quick solution is to lay the unit on
it’s back (after removing the monitor/CPU and
cables!), and to apply a quick shot of WD40 or light
lubricant to the area where the springs meet the
pedal.
Situation:
My bench seems wobbly.
Solution: One or more of the 4
bolts on the inside of the bench-top have become loose.
Use the supplied wrench (or socket wrench if you have
one) to tighten. It’s OK to crank down on these a bit.
This may need to be done a few times before the bench
“settles” in.
