Digital Sampling Makes it Sound Great:  The evolution of digital recording (tech term – sampling) technology in the 1990s delivered the ability to take “pictures” of real sounds and recreate them through special hardware and software.  As a result increasingly realistic sounding electronic musical instruments emerged.   Today, there is no effective difference between the technology used to create audio CDs and the technology that creates a keyboard’s internal sounds for playback through sampling technology.
